2nd GHSP Helps International, Local Communities with Customer and Employee Participation

Mon, November 26, 2012

Grand Haven, MI – GHSP believes in contributing to the communities in which they do business. This theme is consistently demonstrated by the company, and with the assistance of their customers and employees, this global organization most recently donated over $43,000 along with books and food items to the three organizations in need. The efforts by GHSP facilities, located in various regions around the world are spelled out below.

As a part of this global giving, GHSP employees participated at four GHSP locations worldwide to help organizations in their communities: Grand Haven, Michigan; Hart, Michigan; Saltillo, Mexico; and Shanghai, China. GHSP raised funds through customer participation in a recent satisfaction survey. For each survey completed, GHSP gave $15, five dollars to each of the three organizations in the communities where the company does business.

Grand Haven, Michigan:

Employees at GHSP’s global headquarters have gathered various household items for The Salvation Army USA, which are used for transitional houses by families in need. This is how GHSP shows support for the Salvation Army in its effort to stabilize 'at risk' families. GHSP, along with the United Way, believes that giving in the workplace brings people together, and makes employees feel good about themselves and the companies they work for, which is why the facility held a campaign to promote this message. Employees raised $15,000 during the United Way campaign. GHSP’s parent company, JSJ, matched 50% of the contributions to increase the total amount to $22,000.

GHSP Grand Haven employees gave over 300 household items to the Salvations Army to help “at risk” families; participants also contributed to the GHSP’s 2012 United Way campaign.
Hart, Michigan:

GHSP Hart participated in Relay For Life, where communities across the globe come together to honor cancer survivors, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against a disease that has already taken too much. The Hart team raised a total of $2,653, which contributed to the Oceana County total of $57,000. There were 8 team members and 42 people in total who walked for GHSP. The Hart team believes that the funds they raised truly make a difference in the fight against cancer. The Hart team also camped out overnight and took turns walking or running around the track at a local high school. Relay events are up to 24 hours in length and, because cancer never sleeps, each team is asked to have at least one participant on the track at all times.

GHSP Hart also participated in a United Campaign in 2012. Total employee contributions were $12,894. GHSP’s parent company, JSJ, matched 50% of those contributions increasing the total amount raised to $19,341. It was a great year.

Saltillo, Mexico:

GHSP Saltillo donated a total of $405 to a local clinic, Caritas de Saltillo. The funds were a part of GHSP’s recent customer survey. The donation was to support the clinic’s commitment to the continuous improvement of living standards of the needy. This includes improving healthcare and effectively raising the living standards of people in the community.

Shanghai, China:

GHSP’s Asian Headquarters donated 3 laptops, several books and some sports equipment to the Yanglin Elementary School in Jiading District. In addition to these gifts, the GHSP customer survey fundraising effort provided a total of $1000 to purchase books and sports equipment for the school. GHSP China employees also wrote best wishes cards for the students. On November 15th, the GHSP China management team and several employees delivered them to the school. The teachers and students appreciated the care given to them and their education. While visiting the school, GHSP employees participated in several activities with students, which included playing in student football games and painting pictures for environment protection.
